Who we are

Created in 2007, the non-profit association APGICO, was formed by a team of members, with connections to universities and companies, who are interested in the development of creativity and innovation in organizations.

Our Mission

The APGICO´s mission is to develop, spread and promote knowledge and experience in the area of creativity and innovation management in organizations, helping to create conditions for competitiveness of companies and effectiveness in organizations.

Objectives

The APGICO´s objectives are to:

1. develop, to spread and to promote knowledge and experience in the area of creativity and innovation management in organizations;

2. establish international agreements with similar organizations;

3. create dialog forums among companies, academic institutions, governmental organizations and entities interested in creativity and innovation management.

Fernando Cardoso de Sousa – President of the Executive Board of APGICO

Graduated in Military Sciences and Social Psychology; M.A. and PhD. in Organizational Psychology (PhD Thesis in ERIC Ref Ed 446483). President of the GAIM – Marketing Research Centre (www.gaim.pt). Director of the M.A. in Human Resources Management and B.A. in Real Estate Management and Mediation, at the INUAF (www.inuaf-studia.pt), Loule, Portugal. Guest speaker in universities and companies in Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, South Africa, UK and USA.  Author of books and articles on subjects like creativity, innovation, leadership, human resources, psychology and military sociology. Research interests in creativity, organizational innovation, leadership and research methodology.

João Pissarra – Treasurer

João Pissarra, degree in Social and Organizational psychology, master in Organizational Behavior (ISPA). PhD in Social and Organizational Psychology (ISCTE). Professor at the University of Évora.

Research associated in CIS (ISCTE-IUL) , research group in Work and Organizational Psychology (NIPO).

Author of several articles in the field of the psychology of the groups, creativity of group and communication mediated by computer (CMC), published in Journals of the specialty.

Maria José Haneman Marques – Deputy of the General Assembly Board

PhD student in Industrial Management in the University of Aveiro. Her research focuses on the innovation and competitiveness in companies, at the level of management and politics. She has a Master Degree in Innovation and Policy Development and a Degree in Regional and Urban Planning. Between 1997 and 2006, she was a research assistant in the University of Aveiro, participating in several studies, consulting works and national and European research projects. Her scientific interests are focused on the Organizational Innovation, Competitiveness, Innovation Management, Creativity, New Product Development, Cooperation Networks and Development Politics.

Jorge F.S. Gomes – Deputy of the Fiscal Board

BSc in Organisational Psychology (ISPA, Portugal, 1992), MSc in Statistics and Information Management (ISEG, Portugal, 1995), PhD in Management (MBS, UK 2001), and post-doc studies in the University of Twente (The Netherlands, 2004).

Since October 2008 Jorge works at the Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE).  Before that, he worked for ISPA. He has several opinion and scientific national and international articles. He has written two books in the OB and HRM areas.

He is a consultant in change management, especially in areas where one needs to combine HRM and criativity and inovation management.

João Luis Amaro – President of the Fiscal Board

Bachelor in Alimentary Engineering and Post-graduated in Project Management from the University of Algarve, and since 2005 Project manager in the Regional Centre for innovation in the Algarve. At the same time he is a teacher and consultant in Entrepreneurship and Creation of Companies, Innovation and Technological Transfer, Alimentary Security and Equal Opportunities. He created and managed during 9 years, two companies (Alimentary Security and Research and Education). He was, during 5 years, a Regional Coordinator of the ANJE – Algarve (National Association of Youth Managers). Important experience was also a period of 2 years in the Alimentary Industry and a period of 3 years in IAPMEI – Institute of Support to Small and Medium Companies and to Investment.

Jorge Alves – President of the General Assembly Board

Jorge Alves devotes himself to consulting, coaching and training. His professional interests are aimed at innovation, creativity, organizational change and technological development. He  was a professor in the Department of Economy, Management and Industrial Engineering in the University of Aveiro until August 2007. He was a vice-rector of the University of Aveiro between 1996 e 2002. Between 1992 and 1996 he founded and managed the Innovation Agency; between 1998 and 1992 was an official of the European Commission, in the Directorate-General he was responsible for the politics and programmes supporting innovation. Before he entered the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications in the University of Aveiro, where he devoted himself to Communication Systems and Computer Networks.

Maria João Santos – Deputy of the Fiscal Board

Graduated in Sociology from the Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE), Master Degree in Sociology from Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (ISCSP) and PhD in Economic and Organizational Sociology.

She is a teacher at Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão (ISEG), at the Technical University in Lisbon, and a researcher at the Research Centre in Economic and Organizational Sociology (SOCIUS) at ISEG. She is a member of Executive and Scientific Board of Master Studies in HR Management and has researched on organizational innovation and coordinated research projects on sustainable development and social responsibility in organizations.

Helena Bradacova – Project Manager/Coordination of Apgico

Graduated in Business Economy and Management (2005) from the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Czech republic, in the Faculty of Economics, where she defended her Diploma Thesis: “Business plan as a part of project proposal applying for subsidy from the European Union“. In 2004 she studied within the programme “Socrates/Erasmus“ in the INUAF in Loulé, Portugal. In 2005 she received vocational training within the programme “Leonardo da Vinci” in the company TaviraVerde em Tavira, Portugal, in the financial and marketing area. Speaks English, Portuguese and Czech.

Vasco Sousa – Deputy of the General Assembly Board

- Graduated in International Relations and a Master Degree Student in Innovation and Knowledge Management at the University of Aveiro.

- Because the world doesn´t live just off innovation, luckily, also a partner of the company Hotmec -  Trade and maintenance of industrial kitchens.

Ileana Pardal Monteiro – Deputy of the General Assembly Board

Graduated in Psychology, Master in Organizational Behaviour from ISPA, PhD in Psychology and Organizations from the University of Algarve. She is an assistant professor of the Management, Hotels and Tourism School of the University of Algarve. Author of publications in the area of Organizational Behaviour. She worked in Human Resources Management in the Directorate-General of Public Administration.
